This evening - we were entertained by three male Red-Breasted Mergansers that seemed to be engaged in synchronized swimming...they would dive in unison, swim underwater and then appear - in unison... they swam on top of the water together....and then they would dive in unison - again, and again and again.... So beautiful!!!!!!!The Loon arrived on 3/26/2008 ... a few days later than usual, but the lake was late thawing.
There are two on the lake - and he calls every evening just before sunset. I love it!!!!!
